As every goddess out there knows, being healthy is an important part of being glamorous. However, it can be challenging to find good quality products that are also good for you.

I have recently declared a war on products containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) (also Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)).

SLS is a detergent and surfectant used in many personal care products (soaps, shampoos and toothpaste for example) due to being inexpensive and a very effective foaming agent. Unfortunately this chemical is very harsh and a number of health concerns have been raised in published reports.

The main concerns regarding products containing SLS:
- worsened skin problems in individuals with chronic skin hypersensitivity
- in toothpaste may cause mouth ulcers (also known as canker sores or aphthous ulcers)
- has been shown to irritate the skin of the face with prolonged and constant exposure
- in animals causes skin and eye irritation
- linked to hair loss
- etc,
