About to do a corsetry course!

I just found a very promising corsetry course and immediately booked myself in!

Very much looking forward to creating a fully lined & boned tailor made corset from scratch! I’ve got so many divine corset patterns and ideas already forming! Can’t wait to learn how to turn that all into reality. Such excitement – it’ll be fabulous! Can’t wait!

Today’s Goddess Inspiration

Just saw this photo and absolutely love it! She’s Jac Bowie Worldwide’s newest cover girl Vicky Butterfly and she is absolutely divine!

I love the decadent 20s feel of this photo and those Art Deco-ish knickers are to die for! This will be my inspiration when I start to design my next glamorous party outfit…

Tonight in Sydney: The Ruby Revue

The Ruby Revue is a fantastic monthly cabaret variety night featuring Australia’s most intriguing professional and emerging burlesque, vaudeville, comedy, music magic and cabaret performers.

Tonight you have a chance to see some of my favourite performers on stage! Be amazed of the energetic little pocket rocket Kelly Ann Doll who will surely leave you breathless with her dazzling dance moves, Lauren LaRouge will claim the stage with her stunning outfits and enchanting stage charisma, and not to forget Danica Lee who never fails to make you laugh while luring you in with her irresistible feminine curves.

The Ruby Revue is definitely one of my favourite night outs in Sydney! Don’t miss it!

1950′s sewing patterns

The biggest problem in the daily life of a vintage goddess is finding new outfits. I’m not a big fan of current fashion trends and constantly run into issues while I’m trying to find new additions to my wardrobe.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the best way of resolving this issue is to buy a sewing machine.

I spent a wonderful day catching up with my dear grandma and she introduced me to her vintage sewing magazine collection. In every magazine she could point out several glamourous dresses and tell me what kind of fabric she used and what occasion the dress was made for.

Luckily she taught me how to use a sewing machine when I was about 3 years old and I’ve been fluent with one ever since.

She gave me all the 50′s and early 60′s magazines she had, and now I have patterns aplenty for my new glorious wardrobe.

I will be posting photos of the finished products as soon as I can find fabrics worthy of these fabulous designs…

Vintage fur – good or bad?

Vintage Fur Wrap

My silly little soul is awfully confused with this dilemma: is vintage fur good or bad?

On principle, I’m against fur. But then vintage fur is a tad different story. I mean, the garment has been produced decades ago and the poor little animals have already given their lives to satisfy man’s vanity. Giving a vintage fur garment a new home is a way of making sure that they didn’t die in vain? Right?

Also, by buying this item off a gorgeous burlesque performer friend, I am (and I quote) ‘helping a poor showgirl eat‘. See, its for a good cause after all. *grins*

Sexy new satin & lace Mollini pumps

Mollini Helga pumps in taupe

While I’m not too crazy about the silly lace thingie popping out of the back of this Mollini shoe, I fell in love with the colour and the texture of the lace covered satin. The stupid frill folds in easily and the shoes are a nice everyday office heel to spice up an otherwise tame outfit.
